Meet Todd

Todd Mozzer brings passion to everything he does in life. He is a dedicated father, athlete and professional builder striving to improve and create in everything he does. Todd owns Mozzer Built LLC, a construction business based in Wethersfield, Conn.

Going back to his early childhood, Todd's interest in woodworking was evident. He frequently helped his grandfather with various handyman projects while growing up in Manchester, Conn. He had visions of becoming an architect, but his family lacked the resources to pay for a formal education.

Learning The Craft

Todd attended Cheney Tech High School in Manchester to learn carpentry, and he has been building since he graduated in 1983. From residential projects to commercial structures for a small Connecticut-based grocery chain, Todd's work can be seen throughout the state.

For the past 10 years, he has focused his skills on custom-built homes in the area.

"I take pride in my work and I get a lot of self-satisfaction from woodworking and building," Todd said. "And every day is different. That's the most appealing thing."

His craftsmanship earned recognition in the November 2011 issue of Fine Homebuilding, the largest and most respected magazine for residential construction.

He applies his skills to his hobbies, too. He builds furniture and loves arts and crafts projects. "I love the hands-on experience," he said. "It doesn't matter what it is."

A Higher Calling

While his construction business continues to grow in Connecticut, Todd eventually will join the Peace Corps so he can use his skills to help impoverished people throughout the world.

"The Peace Corps is a dream of mine," he said. "I almost did it in 1984, but I started working and it hasn't stopped. There will be a day when it stops and I can work with the people."
